Veli Waller is the founder of Compass Career & College Counseling. Veli received a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Business from UCLA and her teaching credential from California State University at Hayward. Veli is a certified Career & College Advisor; receiving her certification through UC Berkeley Extension. After teaching in the classroom, she then spent 15 years working in the Supplemental Education Industry in a variety of capacities. Initially she began running an after-school tutoring center. She worked closely with parents, students and teachers to ensure each child's needs were being met. Veli then went on to manage a region of educational centers and to provide training and development of staff throughout California. She has worked with thousands of students and enjoys helping them get excited about learning and developing to their potential.
As a College Advisor, Veli has worked with close to 100 students helping them to prepare for and apply to college. Veli's experience and expertise have enabled her to partner with the Gooden College Connection (www.goodencollegeconnection.org) and to assist other non-profit organizations in advising their students. She is a founding member of the WCCAN (West County College Access Network) Steering Committee and is dedicated to increasing the number of first generation college students in their college preparation process.
Veli is a member of the National Association of College Admission Counseling (www.nacacnet.org) and the Western Association of College Admission Counseling (www.wacac.org).
